Meet Ashley
Professor.
Researcher.
Consultant.
Coach.
Mentor.
I began my career researching work stress, particularly mistreatment and social stressors at work. It turns out that when you teach about work stress, everyone immediately wants to know what they can do to make it better. Thus, the past decade of my life has been devoted to teaching professionals how to reduce and respond to work stress – through better relationships, effective communication and influence, and developing resilience.
My passion is helping professionals develop, whether it is with Willamette University MBA students or with clients. My consulting experience has ranged from executive coaching, developing and administering assessments, to designing and leading trainings targeting leadership, teamwork, negotiation, coaching, and resilience. My clients include individuals, small not-for-profit organization, as well as large enterprises.
I am a Fulbright Scholar and award-winning educator whose research is regularly published in top-tier peer reviewed journals, such as Work & Stress, International Journal of Management Reviews, and Human Performance. Additionally, I present research regularly at international conferences, am on the executive committee for the Society for Occupational Health Psychology, and serve on several leading journal editorial boards.
